Responding to the second Azaan of Jumuah before the Khutbah

Q. Does one have to respond to the second Azaan of Jumuah that is given just before the Khutbah of Jumuah?

A. There is no verbal response to the second Azaan of Jumuah called out before the Khutbah of Jumuah is delivered. If one wishes to respond to the second Azaan of Jumuah, one may respond in one’s heart without uttering any words. (Shaami 1/399 – Fataawa Mahmoodiyyah 8/326/327 – Kifaayatul Mufti 3/263).
