Reciting the translation of a verse of Sajdah Tilaawah? 

Q. Does the recital of the translation of the Quran of a verse of Sajdah necessitate the performance of a Sajdah?

A. If a person/translator of the Quran translates the verses of the Quran which requires the performance of a Sajdah Tilaawah, it will be necessary (Waajib) for the translator to perform a Sajdah Tilaawat. On the other hand, the performance of a Sajdah Tilaawat will only be necessary upon those who are listening if they understand that the translation of the Quran is taking place and they understand its meaning.
