Q. Can I prevent my wife from visiting her parents?

A. A husband should not prevent his wife from visiting her parent’s at least once a week. This is the minimum requirement of the wife that the husband should take into consideration. On other days and occasions, this may be discussed mutually between husband and wife. (Hidayyah 2/289)

In any event, the laws and requirements of Hijaab, Mahram (if required) etc. will still apply.
