Q. If a revert Muslim passes away and he is survived by non-Muslims heirs only, who inherits form his estate?

A. In an Islamic state, if a Muslim passes away and is survived by non-Muslims heirs only or no heirs at all according to the Islamic Law of Succession and Inheritance, his/her entire estate will form part of the national treasury (Bait-ul-Maal) of the Islamic state and will be used for the benefit of the Muslim community and the Islamic state.

In a secular state, the entire estate will be distributed amongst the poor and needy. (Mufeed-ul-Waaritheen)

Note: A revert Muslim may bequeath his/her wealth in Islamic avenues such as Masjids, Islamic institutions, welfare etc. during his/her lifetime for his/her benefit in the hereafter and for the Muslim community at large.
