Q. Does vomiting break the fast?

Q. Does vomiting break the fast?

A. Intentional (inducing) vomiting a mouthful nullifies the fast. However, intentional (induced) vomiting less than a mouthful, does not nullify the fast.

On the other hand, if a person vomits unintentionally, irrespective if it is a mouthful or not, the fast will not be nullified. (Hindiyyah).

The definition of “mouthful” is that which one cannot hold back in one’s mouth without difficulty.
