The period of mourning for the deceased

Q. How long is the mourning of the deceased permissible for in Islam?

A. In Islam, the mourning of the loss of the deceased is only allowed for three days after the death of the deceased.

It is incorrect to mourn the loss of the deceased after three days of the death of the deceased.

Rasoolullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said: “It is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah and the last day to mourn for anyone who passes away for more than three days, except for a husband, (for whom the mourning period is) four months and ten days.” (Bukhari)
