Is it permissible for a person to charge a fee for cupping?

Q. Is it permissible for a person to charge a fee for cupping?

A. There is no prohibition for one to charge a fee for offering a cupping (Hijaamah) service. It is totally permissible.

Ibn Abaas Radhiyallahu Anhu reports that Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam was cupped and he paid the man who cupped him his fee. If was not allowed, he would not have paid him. (Bukhari)

N.B. The Ahaadith that mention the word Khabith (evil) does not mean unlawful. It simply categorises it to be a discouraged practice or profession to charge a fee for. (Tabyeenul Haqaaiq 5/124)
