Applying Hennah whilst sitting in Iddah

Q. Can a woman whose husband has passed away and sitting in Iddat put Mehndi on her hair or hands?

A. A woman who is observing an Iddah due to the death of her husband or after being issued with an irrevocable divorce is prohibited from adorning and beautifying herself until her Iddah period terminates. This includes the use of henna on her hair or hands. (Hindiyyah 1/533)
