The permissibility of selling and using Hair Extensions

Q. Is it permissible to sell or use hair extensions or wigs to cover one’s loss of hair?

A. It is permissible for one to sell or use hair extensions and wigs made from synthetic hair or animal hair. However, it is not permissible to sell or use them if they are made from human hair and pig hair. (Hindiyyah 5/358 – Ahsanul Fataawa 8/75)
