If a woman performs Salaah with a few strands of her hair open, is her Salaah valid? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A.<\/strong> In order for a women\u2019s Salaah to be valid, it is a prerequisite that her <em>Awra<\/em> is covered for the duration of the Salaah. The <em>Awrah<\/em> of a woman includes her entire body excluding her hands, feet and face.<\/p>\n<p>Accordingly, if a few strands of woman\u2019s hair is exposed during Salaah, her Salaah will remain valid if the exposed area is <strong>less than one fourth<\/strong> of her head\/hair.<\/p>\n<p>If however, the exposed area is <strong>one forth or more<\/strong> of her head\/hair, and remains exposed for a <strong>duration of a posture in Salaah i.e. the duration to recite the three Tasbeehs <\/strong><strong>(approximately 3-5 seconds),<\/strong> her Salaah will be invalid. <strong>(Ahsanul Fataawa 3\/402)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Allah Ta\u2019ala Knows Best<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mufti Ismaeel Bassa<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>themufti.com<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Exposing a woman&#8217;s hair during Salaah Q.
