What is the Shariah ruling of keeping a dog\/puppy as a pet as I have witnessed many Muslims keeping dogs\/puppies as pets? Kindly advise?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A.<\/strong> It is not permissible to keep dogs\/puppies as pets. In doing so, one\u2019s household will be deprived of the Mercy and blessings of Allah Ta\u2019ala. Rasulullah Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam said:<\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>\u0644\u0627\u064e \u062a\u064e\u062f\u0652\u062e\u064f\u0644\u064f \u0627\u0644\u0645\u064e\u0644\u0627\u064e\u0626\u0650\u0643\u064e\u0629\u064f \u0628\u064e\u064a\u0652\u062a\u064b\u0627 \u0641\u0650\u064a\u0647\u0650 \u0643\u064e\u0644\u0652\u0628\u064c \u0648\u064e\u0644\u0627\u064e \u0635\u064f\u0648\u0631\u064e\u0629\u064c<\/strong><\/h5>\n<p>\u201cAngels do not enter a house wherein there is a dog or an animate picture\u201d <strong>(Bukhari)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>However, if a dog is kept for a valid reason, for e.g. a dog is kept for security, farming and hunting purposes, it will be permissible to kept a dog under certain limitations and restrictions. <strong>(Shaami)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Allah Ta\u2019ala Knows Best<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mufti Ismaeel Bassa<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>themufti.com<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Can Muslims keep dogs\/puppies as pets?
