If a woman\u2019 menses stops 5 minutes before the Fajr Salaah enters, does she have to make Qadha of the Esha and Witr Salaahs?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A. <\/strong>There are 3 possible scenarios that may occur in such a case:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">A woman\u2019s blood stops during the days of menstruation (3-10 days) <strong>prior to her habit<\/strong> with insufficient time to take a complete Ghusal before the time of Salaah expires. For e.g. a woman\u2019s menstrual habit is\u00a0<strong>7\u00a0<\/strong>days and the blood stops on day <strong>5 <\/strong>at <strong>5 minutes<\/strong> before the expiry of the Esha time. In this case, the performance\/Qadha of the Esha and Witr Salaah is <strong>not compulsory.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">A woman\u2019s blood stops during the days of menstruation (3-10 days) at her habit with insufficient time to take a complete Ghusal before the time of Salaah expires. For e.g. a woman\u2019s menstrual habit is <strong>7\u00a0<\/strong>days and the blood stops on day <strong>7 <\/strong>at <strong>5 minutes<\/strong> before the expiry of the Esha time. In this case, the performance\/Qadha of the Esha and Witr Salaah is <strong>not compulsory. <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>In the above two scenarios, t<\/strong><strong>he time for the Ghusal is considered part of the menstrual period.<\/strong> The time for Ghusal includes the time it takes to perform the minimal Ghusal, getting dressed, facing the direction of the Qiblah and saying <sup>`<\/sup>Allah<sup>&#8216;<\/sup> of `Allahu Akbar<sup>&#8216;<\/sup> for the opening of the Salaah. This is approximately <strong>15 minutes<\/strong> in these modern times under normal circumstances.<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>A woman\u2019s blood stops during the days of menstruation (3-10 days) at the maximum (10 days) with insufficient time to take a Ghusal before the time of Salaah expires. For e.g. a woman\u2019s menstrual habit is\u00a0<strong>7\u00a0<\/strong>days and the blood stops on day <strong>10 <\/strong>at <strong>5 minutes<\/strong> before the expiry of the Esha time.
