Does a person remain a Musaafir and perform Qasr Salaah if he intended to stay at one destination for 7 days. Then on the 7<sup>th<\/sup> day, he changed his intention and extended his stay at the same destination for 8 more days, 15 days in total?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A.<\/strong> In the enquired situation, if after undertaking a journey of 78kms or more, a person makes an intention to stay at a destination for 7 days and then subsequently, on the 7<sup>th<\/sup>day, he changes his intention and extends his stay at the same destination for 8 more days (in total 15 days), he will still be considered a Shari\u2019 traveller (Musaafir) and he will perform Qasr (short) Salaah.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This is because he did not make an intention to travel for 15 days or more at any time.<\/strong>\u00a0i.e. his first intention to stay at his destination was 7 days and his second intention was to stay at the same destination for 8 days.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Allah Ta\u2019ala Knows Best<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mufti Ismaeel Bassa<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>themufti.com<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Musaafir extending the duration of stay at the destination Q.
