I sell sheep to the Muslim public at the time of Eid and I also slaughter it on their behalf. There are some Muslims who bought sheep from me and want me to slaughter it on Friday, 31st July 2020 but I am following the majority of Muslims in South Africa who are celebrating Eid on Saturday, 1st August 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Can I slaughter their sheep on Friday even though I follow Eid being on Saturday? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A.<\/strong> If a person\/farmer follows and believes Saturday (1<sup>st<\/sup> of August 2020) to be the day of Eid-ul-Adhaa (10<sup>th<\/sup> of Zul-Hijjah 1441), and he is slaughtering on behalf of his customers\/clients who follow and believe Friday (31<sup>st<\/sup> July 2020) to be the day of Eid-ul-Adhaa, he cannot carry out the slaughter on their behalf on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>This is because, at the time of slaughter, <strong>the belief and actions of the person\/farmer carrying out the slaughter is considered and not the belief and actions of the person on whose behalf the slaughter is carried out. <\/strong><strong>(Shaami 6\/318, Badaai&#8217;-us-Sanaai&#8217; 5\/74, Fataawa Darul Uloom Zakariyyah 6\/326, Fataawa Raheemiyyah 10\/40)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Allah Ta\u2019ala Knows Best<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mufti Ismaeel Bassa<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>themufti.com<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Slaughtering on a day that some believe to be the day of Eid Q.
