If one is always in doubt and does not know which Rakaat of Salaah they are in, what do they do?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A.<\/strong> If one experiences doubts during Salaah <strong>regularly<\/strong> regarding the number of Rakaats of Salaah performed, then one must apply their <strong>honest discretion<\/strong> and act on it accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, if after applying one\u2019s discretion as to whether they are in the 1<sup>st<\/sup> or 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Rakaat of Salaah, one is <strong>more inclined<\/strong> to be in the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Rakaat of Salaah, then one must take it as they are in the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Rakaat of Salaah and complete the Salaah as normal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, if one has <strong>no inclination<\/strong> as to whether they are in the 1<sup>st<\/sup> or 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Rakaat of Salaah, then one must follow the lesser of the two Rakaats of Salaah and take it as they are in the 1<sup>st<\/sup> Rakaat of Salaah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In this case, one must sit for Tashahhud after performing every Rakaat of Salaah and perform Sajdah Sahw at the end before completing the Salaah. <strong>(Maraaqil Falaah 1\/183)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Allah Ta\u2019ala Knows Best<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mufti Ismaeel Bassa<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>themufti.com<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Forgetting the number of Rakaats of Salaah Q.
