What type of animals can be slaughtered for Qurbani?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A. <\/strong>The Shariah has stipulated the type of animals and their ages permitted for slaughter during the days of Eid. The slaughtering of camels, cows\/buffaloes and sheep\/goats has been established from Rasoolullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam and the Sahaabah Radhiyallahu Anhum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In terms of their ages, Rasoolullah Sallahu Alayhi Wasallam is reported to have said: <em>\u201cSacrifice only a full-grown animal unless it is difficult for you, in which case you should sacrifice a six-month old sheep.\u201d <\/em><strong>(Muslim)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The age determined for a full-grown camel is 5 years old, for a cow\/buffalo, it is 2 years old and for a sheep\/goat, it is one years old.
