Then he put a ring on her finger and the family applauded them. Is this custom against Islamic principles?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A. <\/strong>The act of kneeling on a knee to make a proposal of marriage followed by putting a ring on the finger is an Un-Islamic practice and an imitation of non-believers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apart from that, there are many violations of Shariah that occur when a proposal takes place in the above manner.
