What is the ruling on reciting Thana\u2019 in Salaah and when should the Imaam and followers recite it?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A.<\/strong> It is <strong>Sunnah<\/strong> to recite the Thana\u2019 in Salaah. Sayyidatuna Aaisha Radhiyallaahu Anha reports: \u2018When Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam use to commence Salaah, he would recite:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>\u0633\u064f\u0628\u0652\u062d\u064e\u0627\u0646\u064e\u0643\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0644\u064e\u0651\u0647\u064f\u0645\u064e\u0651 \u0648\u064e\u0628\u0650\u062d\u064e\u0645\u0652\u062f\u0650\u0643\u064e\u060c \u0648\u064e\u062a\u064e\u0628\u064e\u0627\u0631\u064e\u0643\u064e \u0627\u0633\u0652\u0645\u064f\u0643\u064e\u060c \u0648\u064e\u062a\u064e\u0639\u064e\u0627\u0644\u064e\u0649 \u062c\u064e\u062f\u064f\u0651\u0643\u064e\u060c \u0648\u064e\u0644\u0627\u064e \u0625\u0650\u0644\u064e\u0647\u064e \u063a\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0631\u064f\u0643\u064e<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Transliteration: \u2018Subhaanak Allaahumma Wabihamdika Watabaarakasmuka Wa Ta\u2019ala Jadduka Wa Laa Ilaaha Ghairuk\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Translation: Glorious You are O Allah, and with Your Praise, and Blessed is Your Name, and Exalted is Your Majesty, and none is worthy to be worshipped but You. <strong>(Tirmidhi)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, it is Sunnah for an <strong>Imaam (one leading the Salaah)<\/strong> and for a <strong>Munfarid (one performing Salaah individually)<\/strong> to recite the Thana\u2019 when commencing Salaah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, it is Sunnah for a <strong>Muqtadi (one who is following the Imaam and has not missed any Rakaats of Salaah)<\/strong> to recite the Thana\u2019 <strong>as long as the Imaam has not engaged in the recital (Qiraat) of Salaah.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In regards to a <strong>Masbooq (a late comer who has missed one or more Rakaats of Salaah),<\/strong> the Thana\u2019 will be recited after standing up to complete the missed Rakaats of Salaah. <strong>(Tahtaawi Ala Maraaqil Falaah 1\/281- Al-Bahrur-Raaiq 1\/329)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Allah Ta\u2019ala Knows Best<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mufti Ismaeel Bassa<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>themufti.com<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reciting the Thana&#8217; in a congregation Q.
