If a person had to cut his hair in ihraam due to some excuse, for instance, he needed some stitches on his head, will Damm become necessary?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A.<\/strong> In the state of Ihraam, if due to the use of stitches on one\u2019s head, one shaves\/cuts a <strong>quarter or less<\/strong> of the head, then it would be necessary to compensate for it by giving <strong>Sadaqah.<\/strong> However, if <strong>more than a quarter <\/strong>of the head is shaved\/cut, then a <strong>Damm<\/strong> will be necessary. <strong>(Hidaayah 1\/158)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A Damm refers to slaughtering a sheep, goat etc. <strong>within the precincts of the Haram.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sadaqah refers to the discharging of the Sadaqatul Fitr amount.
