Q. What is the status of Tawaaf-e-Qudoom in Hajj?

A. The performance of Tawaaf-e-Qudoom is Sunnah upon the non-residents of Makkah Mukarramah during Hajj for a person performing an Ifraad (one Ihraam for Hajj) or Qiraan (one Ihraam for Hajj and Umrah) Hajj. Tawaaf-e-Qudoom is not Sunnah upon a resident of Makkah Mukarramah during Hajj; or a Mutamatti’ (two separate Ihraams for Hajj and Umrah) or a Mu’tamir (one performing Umrah only); (Badaai-us-Sanaai’ 2/150) (Fataawa Fareediyyah 4/239).

Note: Tawaaf-e-Qudoom is an added Tawaaf that consists of one Tawaaf only.
