Q. Are men and women allowed to wear platinum rings?
A. In principle, a man is allowed to wear silver rings only (Shaami 6/359) that weigh less than one Mithqal (approximately 4.374 g) (Shaami 6/361). Hence, it is not permissible for a man to wear rings made from other metals or materials apart from a silver ring. Therefore, it will not be permissible for a man to wear platinum rings as it is made from other metals and materials.
A woman is allowed to wear a silver and gold ring only (Majmaul-Anhur 2/535). Therefore, it will not be permissible for a woman to wear a platinum rings as well.
