Can I dispose off interest accrued on one bank account by offsetting it on interest due on another bank account? 

Q. Respected mufti Saheb. I have interest money to dispose off in one bank account. However I do not have access to those funds. Can I dispose of the interest from another account ? Or do I have to dispose of it from the account where it has accrued?

A. In the enquired case, it is preferred to dispose off the interest money from the bank that it was accrued in. However, if the interest of one bank account is disposed of from another account or source, it will be permissible to do so. (Shaami 2/290)
