Q. Is it necessary for a bride to leave the groom for three days and go to her parents’ house after spending the first night with the groom? Does it have any basis is Islam?
A. The practice of a bride/wife leaving the groom/husband and going to her parent’s house for three days after spending the first night with the groom/husband is an un-Islamic practice. It has no basis in Shariah.
The bride/wife may leave the groom/husband and go to her parent’s house with the consent of the groom/husband.
