The effect of wearing Eyelash Extensions on Wudhu & Salaah

Q. Is the Wudhu and Salaah of a woman with eyelash extensions valid? Does it make a difference if the eyelash extension is attached to the eyelash and not its roots?

A. Generally, eye lash extensions are attached to the eyelashes or eyelids with a non-permeable solution like glue etc.

In that regard, regardless of whether the eyelash extension is attached to the roots of the eyelash or not, the performance of Wudhu and Ghusl will not be valid as it is a requirement for water to reach the complete eyelash including its roots. (Hindiyyah 1/4)

N.B. Eyelash extensions made from human hair or pig hair are prohibited under all circumstances. (Hindiyyah 5/358 – Ahsanul Fataawa 8/75)
